Biggest Morning Tea
The Biggest Morning Tea is coordinated by the Gawler Branch of the Cancer Council that a majority of our members are members. This was a project that one of our past members took on and has grown it with the Gawler Cancer Council group. We had 350 people at our Biggest morning Tea this year 2023 and a profit of in excess of $14,000. We as a club donate $1,000 per year to add to this event.
The Lions Club also supply two prizes for the School students that wait on the tables and cleaning up as well as setting up the food and coffee.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is a community event that raises vital funds to make a big difference for those impacted by cancer.
BBQs & Catering
One of our club’s big fundraisers involves cooking up a storm on the BBQ. We enjoy being out in our community, providing delicious food while raising funds to help our community, near and far. From local school sports day events to Bunnings, we are never far away.
We do Bunning’s BBQ’s as well as three school sports days that we supply the goods and the donate to the schools one school this year received $1,500 dollars and another one received $1,000. This Lions year we will be doing three schools and a pre school BBQ and donations will be made after the events. We also catered for a funeral.
Lions Mints
Lions Mints is another fundraising initiative by Lions Australia that our Lions Club has been involved with for many years. All proceeds raised assist us in running our community projects and supporting charities and other organisations.
