It is that time of the year again, Christmas just around the corner. The Gawler Lions Club have their Christmas cakes and puddings available from the following businesses: Adelaide Road Pharmacy, Mitre 10 Gawler, Terry White Chemists, Bank SA Gawler, Gawler Dry Cleaners, Bendigo Bank Gawler, Health’E’ Advice Chemist, Hewett Pharmacy, and Gawler Caravan Centre, Gawler Heritage Café at the Railway Station, or phone Dean on 0458 616 009.
We will also be at Bunnings, Gawler during December, from Thursday to Sunday 9.30am to 4pm, as well as Wednesday to Friday the week prior to Christmas, selling cakes, and puddings, along with our Christmas raffle. Come along to see us and get your Christmas cakes. Thanks to all our outlets for again supporting us.
Our Sunday Market at the Railway Station has been going well, although the weather has not been kind to us.
We also attended the Rotary Village Fair, having a very successful day with a sausage sizzle, Bric a brac stall and selling our Christmas cakes. Thank you to all the patrons that supported us, come along on each Sunday morning from 8am to 12 noon.
We also managed to fit in a BBQ at Bunnings on a very cold and wet day.
On Saturday, 20th November we held out Christmas lunch at the home of Lion Rodney and Gail Sutton, where our District Governor, Zig Osis, inducted a new member Aisley Hancock. He also presented Lion Maggie Graham with Life Membership of the Lions Clubs International for her 25 years of service. Congratulations Maggie, she was our first female member of the Club.
On Wednesday 23rd November, the Club visited Elizabeth Playford Club, and listened to a very interesting talk on “What to look out for when someone may be having a stroke”.
On 25th November, we held a BBQ for Rail Care at the Gawler Central Station.
